A Brief History

Chrysoula Argyros is a distinguished South African miniaturist and painter, celebrated for her intricate watercolor and oil artworks that often depict portraits, Greek scenes, old buildings, and people.

Argyros joined the Watercolour Society of South Africa in 1991, achieving associateship in 1993 and higher associateship in 2005, receiving numerous awards from the society. In 1992, she became a member of the Miniature Art Society of South Africa, earning multiple accolades for her miniature works.

Her international recognition includes being invited as an associate member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society in 2006, elected as a signature member of the Miniature Artists of America in 2007, and becoming an associate member of both the Hilliard Society and the Royal Miniature Society in the UK in 2012 and 2013, respectively. 

Throughout her career, Argyros has participated in numerous exhibitions worldwide, including the World Federation of Miniatures exhibitions in the UK, Tasmania, Washington, and Moscow. Her works have been showcased in countries such as Hong Kong, the UK, and the USA. 

Argyros’s dedication to miniature art is evident in her meticulous attention to detail, capturing complex compositions within small dimensions, making her a prominent figure in the field of miniaturism.
